The LMAB Finesse Filet Craw is a new addition to my active HRF arsenal and after fishing it pretty hard for a few days I’m glad I added it to my rotation.
The Finesse Filet Craw has a thin body profile which is ideally suited to our small-mouthed Ballan Wrasse. But what the lure loses in bulk it more than makes up for in action. For me, this creature bait has just the right amount of action for wrasse fishing. You can feel the lure working, which can be beneficial in knowing whether the lure has been folded over or fouled with weed. It’s action is reminiscent of one of my all-time favourites, the Reins AX Claw. If you like that one, you are going to love the Finesse Filet Craw.
The thin body is prone to tearing when attacked by Ballan Wrasse, however this is more than made up for with such a good hook-up rate for a weedless rigged lure. On a size 1 or even size 2 offset hook, there is plenty of room in the gape for the lure to slide out the way and present the hook point.
If you can live with burning through a few lures (or gluing them back together) then the LMAB Finesse Filet Craw is a fantastic lure option for wrasse fishing.
