Came up with this combo at home and had a good feeling about it so I fished it all day today. The lure is made by Daiwa Japan, called the Daiwa HRF Sonic Shad 2.2″ in Pumpkin Gold. As the name suggests, this little creature x shad mashup really does belt out some vibration with its stout paddle tail. And it looks the part when you’re fishing it slow. So you get the best of both worlds. A quick lift to buzz the tail and let all the nearby fish know it’s there, and then let it fall to the bottom and work it slowly through the structure with the Jika rig. It worked really well. Could really feel the lure working. Generated a good hook-up-rate from being a fairly small profile lure.
